Help with camera

Both mine and my wife's x is having constant trouble with our camera. When a picture is taken it moves down to the bottom of the screen like it is being saved but it either does not show in the gallery, or it shows as a Grey empty thumbnail.

I have read several threads but I can't seem to find a fix. The only way I can get the camera to work is to unmount and remount the sd card.

I've tried clearing cash, formatting the sd card, and but nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Same with me, especially the video camera. "May take 3 minutes to save", then it NEVER saves.

I use Rescan Media from the android market to fix this problem. Yes it's a pain to have a secondary app to add pics to the gallery but it works..
