Help with check sum naming.

When I backup my DX it is automatically given a file name. I would like to give it a file name that will be easier to remember what it is. And of course when I do that and try to restore the file I get a check sum error. Is there a way to re-check sum a file?? Thanks

with CWM recovery i can rename the backup files without affecting the md5sum.
i think it only changebthe folder name and leave all files as is so nothing get changed
