Help With Cruz R103 - no audio

This being my very first android device - I like the Cruz R103 - it suits my needs, and after applying the firmware update, the resistive screen is so much better. More people should know that. Alas, there is no audio at all, neither with speakers nor with headphones. Any ideas to fix this? Thanks!
