I have a Sprint Galaxy S3 with Jellybean. My GMail does NOT notify me when I have any new emails residing on the Server, when I first turn my phone on. Is there a "fix," for this? TIA!

Going to assume your using stock Gmail app and not the mail app from Samsung.
open up the gmail app. tap menu, settings, tap the email address you want to get the notifications for, second line is Notifications, make sure that is checked.
If your not getting notifications after that id check your data settings.

On your phone settings, select accounts, Google, Gmail, and make sure that there is a check mark on synchronize. Also on your. Gmail account go to settings and check notifications on.
