help with minor annoyances[solved]

my galaxy S21 was wiped for repair. and i just finished setting it up again using nova launcher. but two things are different...

1 when i swipe up to show all open apps there are these four recent app icons at the bottom of the screen (see attached). can i remove them? nova said it's not their issue, but i don't see any option in samsung's settings.

2 my clock/battery percentage/etc is only visible when i swipe down on the home screen. can they be always on at the top of the screen? i could swear they were before...

For the battery percentage...
Phone Settings --> Notifications --> Advanced Settings --> Show Battery Percentage Select it

solved! it was in nova settings. thank you.

reddit solved the first question...it was so obvious: i tapped the three dots in the search window and unticked "show suggested apps".
