Ok, I used to switch phones like once every 3 months. Well I've been using the iphone 4 (not 4S) for about a year and a half. I really like all of the features and I'm pretty comfortable with the software coming from using all of the previous iphones.

I once switched to the HTC Aria and couldn't stand the Android platform so I went right back to the iphone. I recently saw the One X in the store and really like the design. I'm just wondering if I will like the android software. The aria just seemed like it had too much crap for apps and the battery was terrible compared to the iphone. I like the simplicity of the iphone. Can an android phone be set-up in a similar fashion??

I'm on the fence about upgrading now to the One X or waiting for the new iphone. Please help me decide!!

You might want to play around with the One X in a store first before you get it. Head into any AT&T store and they should have the HOX on display so you can mess around with it and see if you like it. I can say that with the hox, the battery life is incredible.

It's going to require more steps to setup but you will get through it, no problem, if you follow all the steps.

An important point: use the on-board Gmail app instead of the HTC push mail app (the main one) for Gmail.

Yea the HOX is a different kind of beast all together. Sense 4 its pretty user friendly, but if you dont like it you can alwaya get a simple home manager (no root or unlocked bootloader required) and simply download a new launcher from the play store.

Im currently using N.O.V.A launcher to make my HOX look more like stock ICS

I must say you can't really experience the inside and outs of a HTC phone setup unless you actually go through the process.

You probably need all your email passwords for all your various accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail etc) ready, but do take note that you would be better off using the in-built Gmail app instead of the main HTC mail app for that particular account.

You need to setup WIFI and the location service Google usually have on Android phones, plus Carrier IQ.

It's all about downloading the apps you want and arranging them from the app drawer onto the home screen into preferably folders or standalone. This differs from Iphones in that all the apps are simply dumped onto the launcher.

Overall, you are probably not going to get as smooth as the experience you get on an Iphone, and not all of your Iphone apps may be present on Android, but the HTC One X is the closest you can get IMO.

Why would you want to setup an Android phone like an iPhone? If you're happy with the iPhone, stick with it. I made the switch from BlackBerry to Android, the HOX being my first Android phone, and I'm loving it. I tried out the first iPhone and didn't like it at all. Never went back. Decided to go Android for the opposite reasons of why you like the iPhone - the customizability. Love how I can change anything I want.

I'm using the international HOX and the battery life has been pretty decent. I can easily make it through the day with heavy usage on a single charge.

Like you I was debating whether to get the HOX, wait for the Galaxy S3 (which wasn't out at the time) or wait for the next iPhone. Don't regret picking up the HOX for a second. But it is really a matter of person preference. As some of the other replies have suggested, you should really go into a store and spend some time with a HOX.

If you like customization, then Android is the way to go. ICS is so much better than previous versions of the Android OS. If you like simple set up, I highly recommend Nova Launcher. With Nova Launcher you can customize till your heart is content and at the same time, it is a light weight launcher that is very easy to use. I found HTC Sense a bit over-bloated, but even HTC Sense is nice.

Not to pile on the iPhones, but I swear to God, the AT&T Store Manager, where I got my HTC ONE X, simple said to me...."The iPhone is a Dumb-SmartPhone, where Android Smart Phones are for people who like to be identified as individuals, not sheep..." He then pulled out his HTC ONE X he uses as his personal phone....Too me that is salesmanship right there. He was being blunt, too the point, and too me truthful....

Hope that helps....

Have a great one...

I am out...!

The aria was defiantly kids play. That was a low level android when other better options were available at time. The HOX is top of the line compared with other androids.
