I am having major problems trying to get my phone re-rooted on 2.2.1. I have tried z4 root about ten times now. Did a battery pull, enabled debugging all of the usual stuff. It looks like everything is working and the phone reboots, but when its back on still no root. I do have he superuser icon on my homescreen but that was there when I first installed the new update so I'm pretty much certain it is from the last root, plus none of my programs can get root access.

I am not sure what else to do, I am starting to thing maybe the problem is due to bootstrap that I have installed. Everytime the phone reboots it doenn't go right back on, it goes to that recovery screen. Can this be why the phone doesn't root?

How is everyone else getting their phone to root and if so, do I need to remove bootstrap because I have already tried that and still get stuck and the bootstrap (clockworkmod) screen even when the program is uninstalled.

I am at a lose of words, but really want my root back :(

DROID X 2.3.340 System SBF Released for 2.3.320 Leak Users - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

If you remember from my thread i had the same issue. I ended up using the wrong SBF file and temporary bricking my phone. I think found this SBF and restored my phone. Unfortunately i lost all my system settings and everything but i have nandroid backup. I ran z4root before installing anything else and after about less than 5 times i got the root to go though and work for the first reboot. Its just a matter of stepping up and flashing the phone i suppose. Im rooting running root explorer and wireless tether with no problems now.
