Help with Samsung Kies??

My galaxy sII is buzzing every 2 seconds, and when I took it into the store they said I should do a master reset. I like to keep all my messages both sms and mms but so far I have not been able to back them up successfully. I tried using samsung kies and every time I try to backup messages it loads and prepares and then ends up telling me the device is not responding. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is Kies just unreliable?

What did you do on your device before the buzzing problems started? I've never heard of something like this happening. Maybe an undesired /system tweak messing with vibra values?

I don't think I did anything...one day it just started happening and then continued to do so every now and then since that day. I looked on other forums and they said it might be a power button issue. I don't really know what a master reset will do but I'm willing to try it, I just don't want to lose everything!

Check to make sure that the power button issue doesn't apply in your case (The T-Mobile Galaxy SII's are prone to this problem, though not all devices have this issue). If it doesn't, you may have to hard-reset the handset in order to attempt to remedy the issue. If neither works, maybe you should request a replacement device.

Downloaded the Kies application onto my iMac so I could transfer Galaxy S4 photos. Upon opening Kies, the program began to copy not only the S4 pix, but about 100 of my most recent iMac screens and searches, selected photos from my iMac library, and smiley faces and various icons. So, #1, why all of this junk now in the Kies folder, and #2, I can't seem to trash the junk. The Kies trash does not light up, and my iMac trash can will not accept the junk. Thank you in advance.

Hey, did you ever figure out what was going on with your Kies library? My girlfriend recently got an S5 and Kies has imported every picture from every application on her MacBook including icons, screenshots. etc. Unbelievable what a piece of crap this Kies program is!!

Samsung no longer uses this app now. they use Smart Switch which is much better.
