Help with SIM Card and GSM mode

I just got a Local SIM card here in Grenada to use in my Incredible 2. According to Verizon I should be able to use it in my phone, however when I try to switch to GSM mode I keep seeing the screen saying "No SIM Card detected." This happens with both my original Verizon card and my new local one, and my phone is unlocked. Any ideas?

HTC suggested that it's just a faulty SIM card reader but I find that a little hard to believe.

Plug in your VZW sim card. Go to Settings -- About Phone -- Phone Identity

Do you see your SIM card number? If so, SIM reader is fine. If not, check the SIM card orientation. When looking at the back of the phone, the notch should be in the bottom right corner. Sounds silly, but I had this problem one time when I had my global SIM reversed in the slot.

Check that first. If it's still not working, then we can go from there.
