Help With Update

I tried to see if i could download it last night and i could but i didnt start it. Then i tried to download it now but it said there was no update available? Help?

1. Pull the battery and leave it out for 2 to 3 mins.

2. Pull the SIM card and leave it out for the same.

3. Put the SIM back in

4. Put Battery back in

5. start phone up

6. Give it about 15 mins or so and do another manual update

7. If that doesn't work, try again. I hear that it might take an hour if you check every 10 to 15 mins.

This is the one I used. Will WIPE your data (No on SD Card). BACK UP
 
Omfg. Just called and found out they pulled the update due to the people losing internet. **** this

Use the link in my post above yours.....it is the same as the OTA except it will do a full wipe of your data (Not SD Card), the OTA preserves that. BACK UP

This is the one I used and it works 100% perfectly fine....I have been able to access the net via 4G or WiFi

No one is (well, OK, I can't speak for anyone else, but certainly I am not) calling you a liar. I think the person who told you that line of hooey was lying, though. You just got a really clueless or downright stupid rep.

There are no major Internet connection problems with this update, and in fact it seems to have improved them. I've only had to do the "airplane mode shuffle" once in the 30 hours I've had GB, and before I was doing it several times a day. These forums seem to be full of a complete lack of "I got my GB update and I can't get on yon Intarwebs!" screaming, which means there isn't a widespread problem.

What the rep MIGHT have meant was the update was being pulled from your area because every Thunderbolt user in your area downloading 150MB was overloading their network, but I'd have a hard time believing that, too. I imagine if your local tower is overloaded it's programmed to send back the "no update available" until things get quieter - that would be smart network management.

Follow the advice above (not the RUU load if you don't want to, just the "pull the battery for a few minutes, wait a while, try again every 15 minutes and be patient" part). Maybe wait until late at night when the towers are getting less use if it doesn't work well during the day.

The update is still out there. Someone here at work just got his prompt a little while ago. There are a lot of people left to update.

That's what I was asking...source, as in who did you call? Verizon store? Verizon Tech help? Geez. Thanks for biting my head off. Now I have to go and get it re-attached. :confused:

1. tried the battery pull, sim card pull and sd card pull for 10-15 mins

2. tried check new for over 2 hrs, no luck

3. when i do status here is what i get back

now granted i may have cancelled the update since it tried as i was waking up this morning (6:30am alarm setting)

I called and the VZW rep said they recieved an email about this problem. Its not everybody who has this problem, so moat people probably dont have this issue.
