Help with updating Clockworkmod Recovery

So I want to get Cyanogenmod on my S3 and I tried but I got an error, it was something like (Status 7) installation aborted. So I found that the solution was to update your Clockworkmod to the latest version. My question is if my phone is already rooted and has Clockworkmod on it, can I run Odin and install Clockworkmod that way or do I have to unroot my phone to update Clockworkmod?

OK I got an updated CWM via Rom Manager but now I don't know if it is okay to wipe data while running Cyanogenmod 10? I got an error for accidentally flashing the wrong gapps.

I would do a clean wipe to include factory reset and reflash CM10 and the correct gapps.
