I currently have an Straight Talk (AT&T) iphone 3 (blah blah) and have recently acquired htc Sprint 4G. Can I switch my straight talk service over to the htc?

I do not think you can do that. The two carriers are on different band types.

I think that is possible only if you unlock the Sprint HTC.

The radio is CDMA. So in short no it will not work correctly.
