"Helpful hints" in dialer and messages apps

Ok, how do I turn this crap off. I don't want hints that require me to tap "got it" in any app. Not only that, was just on an automated call that I started from the dialer. Had to go back to the dialer to put in a code and I can see the whole conversation transcribed. I don't want that either. Nothing in the dialer settings and I don't have anything enabled in the accessibility settings.

How do I turn off all this "helpful" crap?

In Messages turn off Nudges and other Suggestions. Go to Messages > Settings > Suggestions. There are all the Assistant suggestions settings, and the Nudges option > tap it to turn Nudges On or Off.

I think there is a similar Assistant style settings menu in the phone app to turn Assistant stuff On or Off for what Assistant does during a phone call.

Thanks! That helped for Messages and I have now turned everything off. I do not see a similar optio in the dialer.....

Me neither. I thought there was, but apparently not. Maybe it's in the Google app within the Assistant settings. I'm digging thru there but not seeing anything yet.

Try dialer settings > Direct My Call

@Scott337 Thanks! I was looing at that but wasn't sure. I have turned it off but will not know if that works until I make a call to an automated service.

Update: That seems to have stopped the scrolling transcript, though I still have a "assistant hold" window on top. I can live with that though. Thanks!

Depending on the type of database used the quotes " " in the original title get turned into what we see now.

If you started the thread I think you can edit the title, I think. I know other forums allow the OP to edit the title. Just remove the quotes and all should be good.

Hey Mods, what happened to the title of this thread? That's not how I originally typed it out.....

I fixed it. Not sure why that happens sometimes with special characters like quotes and ampersands. It may have to do with how the user was creating the thread (i.e., forum website vs app).

Hmm, weird -- I would've thought the website was more reliable. Were you using the website on your phone or on a computer?

It looked weird on my iMac Pro, too. I'm using Brave browser. Looks fine now, though.

I have no idea why it happens. The forum software works in mysterious ways.
