A while ago, every time I got into my car, my tunes would start playing with no way to turn them off.i had to delete every tune in my library. NOW THE MINUTE I START TGD CAR, MY MESSAGES START TO PLAY. WTF?

Check your car's head unit's settings and see if it isn't pulling media/messages automatically. Same thing on the phone (if you have Drive mode kicking in and set to read things out loud).

To stop your phone from automatically playing music when it connects to your car's Bluetooth, you'll need to adjust settings within either your phone's Bluetooth settings or the specific music app you're using. Many music apps have an option to disable autoplay when connected to a Bluetooth device. Additionally, your phone's Bluetooth or Android Auto settings may have a similar option. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Spotify: Open Spotify, go to Settings, and look for playback settings, and disable autoplay. [5, 5, 6, 6, 7]
  • Other Music Apps: Check the settings of your preferred music app for similar autoplay or Bluetooth connection settings. [3, 3, 8, 9]
2. Check Phone's Bluetooth or Android Auto Settings:
  • Android Auto: If you use Android Auto, open the Android Auto app settings, and look for an option to disable automatic music starting or launching when the car connects. [1, 1, 4, 4]
  • General Bluetooth: If you don't use Android Auto, check your phone's general Bluetooth settings and look for any related options that might be causing this behavior. [3, 3, 10, 10]
  • CarPlay (Apple): If you use CarPlay, you can try turning off the "Handoff" feature in your phone's AirPlay and Handoff settings, according to some users. [11, 11, 12, 12]

3. Re-pair the Devices (If Necessary):

I had this problem and the only answer for me was to uninstall Youtube Music. It has a setting to not allow connected devices to start playback, but that setting never worked for me.
