Here's an odd one.....

Ok, I have an HTC Thunderbolt, in the begining somehow my contact name was linked to Facebook. Which was my first name, my wifes first name, and last name was last name. Which is our Facebook account.

When I go to change My phones contact name to just my 1st and Last name, and delete all, her name still shows up, even with nothing in the fields.

Does this make sense to ya'll.. I can't figure out how to unlink it to facebook to get her name out of my contact card. I don't even go on facebook from phone. all hers.

I would try removing your Facebook account from your phone and if needed you cold sign back in and don't choose to sync contacts while signing in. You may need to reboot your phone after to remove the names.

Tried everything i could think of even uninstalled facebook and reinstalled....still nothing

Are yoour contacts stored as Google contacts or phone stoage? If they are on Google you may want to make up a dummy account and log into it so you can sign out of your current account. Then take a look on your pc in your Google account and make sure the names are listed correctly then sign back in.

I guess that is where i am lacking, how do i know? I could never get them to link to my Google email.

Currently I'm running a gingerbread rom so I'm not sure if its that same but when I open up a contact it show in the upper right side it says the type of contact. I couldn't find a way to change the type other then adding a new one. When you do add a contact there is a step where you can select which type.

Ok, so no luck messed with it all night.
So to some it up, when editing my phones contact card, 1st and last names are Blank, when saved there is a name in the 1st name spot. Which is part of our Facebook Acct. So lets say my Facebook is 1stname middlename lastname
which is what my contact card showed, went in to change it only shows 1st name and last name, shows no middle name, but when i delete all middle name still shows on saved card.. WTF

Come on guys help me out.....

Thanks guys figured it out had to Contact HTC direct, simply had to move contacts to SD Card, uninstall contacts force stop, teh reinstall contacts from SD card....Close thread.. whoop whoop
