Hero Help

All,

I currently am using the Samsung Instink. I am desperately wanting to get rid of it and found an offer on a Hero. (I was looking at either a Hero or Moment.) The guy will trade me an 8GB iTouch 2g plus $50 for his. Good deal or no?

Is the Hero all that it is cracked up to be? I hear that a lot of people are having issues with the lagging and locking up (the whole reason I hate the Instink.)

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I love my Hero. I have an iPod Touch 2g, and before I got this phone, was listening to my iPod all day, everyday. With Hero + Gumbo 1.5c, I have no more need for my iPod. I have plenty of music on my SD card in the phone, but I've found that I prefer online music apps, like Slacker, Pandora and DroidLive. Gbhil's Gumbo 1.5c eliminated most of the lag for me, and I've never had my phone lock up. It takes about 14 hrs or so for my phone to get down to about 20% battery, but I'm underground without signal pretty often, so that drains the battery fast. I would go for it.

Just make sure that the ESN is good for the phone. If the ESN is bad, then the phone will be practically worthless (or so I'm told).

Yeah, I just called Sprint and had the first productive conversation with someone all week by him telling me it was clear.

Used 8GB touch - ~$150.00
+ the $50 bucks

Used CDMA Hero ~ $250.

If you do it, activate it on line and say yes when they ask if you want insurance. Not sure if it's a Sprint feature or an oversite, but they will let you do it.

My son just got insurance activated on a very old BB 8830 he activated to take to Indianapolis for the NCAA tourney last month.

I had the Instink and now I have the hero. I would trade my ipod and steal two more to swap for a hero. I would also take a loss on the instinct and NOT try to sell it just to hear the sound it makes when thrown through a window at the Sprint store.

Well... to make the deal easier... he wants to trade the Hero + give my $20 for my iTouch and the Instink. Getting in touch with him now to meet up.

I might actually begin to like Sprint now.

Best posting I have seen thus far. I think everyone who has had one wants to do that.

Epic.
