I have had a DX for a while now and have dabbled in rooting and modest overclocking and am currently running the .588 gingerbread rooted version. This is more or less a question about the jrummy DroidX Overclock app. I had my profiles set up and had the frequencies set to Medium @ 1300/1000/800/400 and the phone has ran stable and not had any problems with the temp at most getting to 107. Well just a couple of minutes ago I pulled my phone off the charger and it was HOT to the touch and read 120 degrees... I have been running this setup on my phone since around April 20th and this is the first time it's ever gotten that hot. Now my question is, how hot is too hot? And is there a damn website or place where I can go read all about the Droid Overclock program? There's a lot of things I want to learn about and what everything does....

I don't exactly know how hot "too hot" is but I have setcpu set to limit the cpu usage when the temperature gets to 34*C ...I think I got that number from the iPhone (I think 35*C is the temperature where the message pops up telling the iPhone users that they can't use their iPhone any more because it is too hot).

Its because all phones get a little warm when charging, touch the charger on the outlet when it's charging thats hot to (in Paris Hilton voice) add the overclocked phone and yup its really gonna get HOT. Turn the phone off before charging or go stock voltages if u wanna get rid of the heat.

Thanks guys. Is there a place I can go read up on DROID Overclock? I'd like to learn more about what the program does and how the features work.

I got my Droid X to 135 F from tethering to play xbox live in the sun (lulz). I heard the buzzer from multiple apps tell me its damn hot, so I pulled the battery and shoved it in the freezer for 15 minutes:p
