I'm the fellow whose been coding since 1979. Cobol with CICS, Assembler on the Big Iron, IBM's VM when it was the only Virtual Machine operating system out there, z/OS Systems Programmer (like an Administrator on Linux) etc ... But then, BOOM !!! Mainframe jobs went the way of the Dinosaur (at least they went to India.) To stay gainfully employed, I became an Internet deveoper with the requisite skill sets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, DB2, Etc.)
I am currently employed with an insurance company in Richmond, Virginia as an Intranet Applications Developer, tasked with taking our in-house applications out to the public via Android and Apple devices... Currently working on learning Android best-practices (not to mention how to write applications.) Fun is at hand !
