Verizon Galaxy S8 Hey Google instead of Ok Google

Is anyone able to configure the google assistant to accept "Hey Google" instead of "Ok Google"? If so, can you explain how it was done? Thanks.

On Oreo Beta. Maybe that's my issue.

on Oreo beta as well, but can't get Hey Google to work. went to retrain my voice and it went through training using ok Google and hey Google, but it still doesn't work.

Same. Don't remember where I read it but thought Google had enabled that since Google Home answered to it. Guess it's rolling out slowly.

Open your Google app, tap Menu>Settings>Voice>Voice Match>Retrain Voice Model. It should ask you to say "Ok Google" and "Hey Google" twice. That might be what you need for it to recognize "Hey Google."

Let us know how things are going! I think it took a while for my phone to do the "Hey Google" thing as well.

Thanks, but I don't have an option to say Ok and Hey twice. Only OK three times. Not on oreo beta.

Same here on Oreo Beta. Only option is OK Google, even if I delete voice and start over. Maybe a beta problem or maybe just hasn't rolled out to everyone yet.

Hmm, my bad -- as @mary beth hale mentioned, it looks like something that is still being rolled out: "Hey Google" hotword for phones rolling out to more users
