'Hey Google' while using car bluetooth speaker

[Android Central Question]

I use Bluetooth to stream my phone audio (from Spotify) to my car speakers.

However, when active I can't use Google Assistant, as it doesn't hear me over the audio from the speakers.

Is there a workaround for this? I'd like to be make simple queries while in the car.
