Hi. Could this be what's draining my battery? Should I turn it off? What exactly does it do??

It's the equivalent of a screensaver, but it can only be used under certain conditions, like in a dock or charging. It has been in Vanilla Android since 4.2. I always turn it off. Don't see the point in it.

Likewise I find it pointless

Thanks... I agree.... I thought maybe I wasn't actually doing it right.

If you are having battery issues, this should not be the cause. Can you go into further detail on what is wrong?

I actually find daydream quite useful. If you have the google clock app or something similar on your device, and it is enabled in daydream, you see the time while the device is charging. This also can easily be shut off by pressing the power button once it has shown up.

I like daydream for the clock when my device is charging on my nightstand at night. I dim it so it isn't extremely bright. It reminds me of bedside mode from legacy BBOS.

I definitely find that to be a very practical setting. However I turned off night mode because it was too dark for me to see next to my bed.
