New member here. I'm from the U.S. in the Pacific Northwest (0regon). I've been an Android user from the beginning, and it's time I finally joined to learn more. I hope to learn a lot from this community.

I actually had a T-Mobile G1 which I think was actually made by HTC. It may have been the first Android phone I had seen. A friend gave it to me to use in exchange for my Nokia 6310i and Sony Ericsson T68i, which was odd to me. He was actually a programmer for cell phone tech, and he just wanted to mess around with them. I had bought and used them in Europe.

At any one time he would have at least a dozen new phones from miscellaneous companies. If you can imagine, during the hey days of early mobile phones, he was always popular with techies at parties. He eventually was hired by Apple.

I'm not sure. That was quite a while ago, and I moved away from the Bay Area where he lived.

I was actually having the classic "No Sim Detected" issue with my son's Samsung A53 5G directly after the One UI 7 15 update overnight, and I came on here to ask for advice. But after trying all published fixes and failing, I figured out that the update was somehow interrupted, or my son hadn't let it finish before running to me with it for help. Reupdated, sim card recognized, and it worked after that! Issue solved.

This happened right after I registered here. Lol! Must have been the good karma.

Like your forum name! It's got a nice ring to it.

Throughout my lifetime, we've often travelled thru Oregon. Have always greatly enjoyed travelling the coast, and skiing @ Mt. Hood & Mt. Bachelor. And the Rodeo @ Bend! We also used to take the train down to Portland & Eugene, from Seattle, yearly, for shopping in Portland, and the theatre in Eugene.
And I have to say that the Chukar, Hungarian Partridge, Deer, Elk, Bighorn Sheep hunting & Steelhead fishing on the Grand Ronde & Snake rivers....used to be unmatched....anywhere on this earth, IMHO!
At least thru the 90's, anyway. Not sure if it still is, these days.
