I've been lurking for about a week now as I'm interested in purchasing my first Android device (Thunderbolt, presently a blackberry user).
My reason for the switch is that I'm simply tired of BB. It's a remarkably stable platform, excellent for business, reliability, etc., but for me, every new iteration of the blackberry seems bland, the function leaves much to be desired, and the freshness factor lasts for about a day.
I do use my phone for business, but I also use it for pleasure, and I simply don't get any pleasure out of this platform anymore.
I'm a graduate computer and systems engineer with software engineering background however I don't work in the industry. I'm looking to rekindle my interest in developing small solutions to common problems or areas where solutions are lacking and I think the Android platform might be the place where I can get back into doing some coding for fun.
I'm looking forward to doing some more reading on Android, the devices that utilize it, and other resources.
