I am new to this website/forum business. I used to think I was pretty good with a computer, then I got a "smartphone" and am stuck with a dumb user!

Here's my problem: I've been trying to download and install Quickoffice Pro on to my Samsung Captivate. The firnware says it's at 2.2 and I presume that refers to the Android O/S. It seems I can download Quickoffice Pro but it will not install! I keep getting an "Install blocked......your security is set to block apps. not obtained from Android Market" But, I thought I DID purchase it from Android Market! I've contacted Samsung, Quickoffice support center, and AT&T, all several times but still no luck with installing! Any suggestions out there? I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

Try this hit your menu key and then select settings>applications>make sure unknown sources is check which will allow you to install non market application. Not really sure why your having this issue with a market app. If you can't get it to work I use Doc' to go for work/pdf/excel and it will sync desktop file if you choose.

Welcome to AC hope above info helps :)

Thanks for the tip. I did try that though and still nothing. Of course my Samsung shows "Development" under Apps and then "Allow mock locations" but I kind of assume that's pretty close to what you mentioned. The path as you suggested it is no where to be found on my phone! Who knows why!

Also, I understand that AT&T does not allow you to download/install anything not purchased from Android Market. Now they tell me! I assume purchasing THROUGH Android Mrkt and FROM Android Mrkt. are two different things. Again, who knew!

Thanks again for the suggestion. My next step is to ask for a refund from Quickoffice and try the Google Docs approach.
