I'm at a crossroads: Samsung S3 or Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Currently, I'm using the iPhone 4 (I know how well that jives in this forum LOL). I've had the iPhone since '08, with a bit of BB in between, but I think it's time to abandon ship.

Both the aforementioned phones are rock solid. The picture quality really doesn't matter to me (let's face it--we're not photographers; the most we do with our camera is a simple point-and-shoot gesture. Hell, my iPhone 3G can still take some pretty kickass photos, and that camera quality is a "piece of s***" by today's standard). I'm also not into apps, as much (you're probably thinking why this guy is even considering a smartphone LOL), so multitasking isn't a big issue as well. A lot of what I use my phone for is emails, web browsing, and music. I want the experience I can get with my laptop on my phone.

Some of the things I love about Android (again, I'm not immersed in this, quite simply because I don't own a device that runs it): Flash. I'm shocked that Apple still doesn't support Flash. We're approaching 2013, and a major label still doesn't have support for Flash? Come on! Second: I love the customizability. Hands down, one of the best features of Android. In a market where people want to be unique, there has to be room for customization. Thirdly: Screen size. This isn't a major selling factor. I'm comfortable with the iPhone size--quite simply, because my thumb can reach all corners of the screen. But, the 4"+ screen of these two devices are--hands down--amazing.

Anyway, what are your thoughts? Help a wandering soul make his decision! LOL

Adobe no longer supports Flash on mobile devices. Going to Android for flash isn't the greatest idea either. Sure you can get the last version of Flash that Adobe released, but they're not going to update it.

Here's a question to ask yourself: do you want a phone you can root and install a ROM on, or do you want something that works well out of the box? The Nexus is designed to run Android as close to Google's vision as possible, while the S3 has the TouchWiz skin. There are people here who are in both camps. Of course, if you plan on rooting your phone, the factory software probably doesn't matter.

That's just one line of thinking to consider. Of course you should also compare the hardware specs of both phones. That's a whole 'nother area to consider.

Hope this helps! :)

Rooting, ROM, etc--so much to learn! LOL I think I'm probably going to end up getting the S3, but if the price is too high, then I'll definitely go with the Nexus.
