My phone is a samsung Galaxy s3 phone.I forgot the code for lock screen and want to
factory reset, but i want to save my progress.... how do i save my files and everything without unlocking my phone? I can use a laptop.

Welcome to the forums. You can try going to Android Device manager and see if you can reset the password there.
