Just bought the HTC Merge for Verizon, after the display on my 2 year old Motorola Droid took a dump and started pushing its own buttons. After 2 pretty full days of research, I managed to get it rooted (thanks 2fastroms!) and now I'm in the process of searching for a custom ROM for it. Currently running Froyo 2.2 stock, with S-off and perm root. This is the first time I've rooted a phone, and I probably wouldn't have gone to the trouble except for the fact that Verizon decided I would prefer a Bing search engine to Google. Isn't it amazing what desperate measures these huge corporations can drive us to when they ignore our preferences and make backroom deals with other huge corporations? Anyway, nice to meet you all!
