Hide Navigation Bar?

I know I can hide the navigation bar (bottom bar of the phone) by double tapping the dot on the left. But I was wondering if I can hide it for specific apps only? When I launch Netflix and play a video I have to hide it each time. I'm coming from a S7 so I'm still getting used to the on screen controls.

Nope, it's either always hidden or always shown. No way to set it per-app.

You can probably set up a macro using an app like Tasker to simulate a tap on that button maybe 1 second after opening the app you want it to disappear in.
