Is this something that can't be done on this phone? Say it ain't so!

Yes, it can be done. It wasn't there for me at first, but after downloading and installing an OS update it was an available option.

There is a down arrow on the bottom left of the navigation bar, touch that and it'll hide the entire navigation bar. Swipe up from bottom and touch it again to lock the navigation bar again.

You don't see this option? Mine is T-Mobile version.

I wasn't notified. As I do with all new phones I go to the "Software Update" and check to see if there is anything.

Software version is current. don't see a down arrow. Got 13 days left to take this back if this doesn't happen.

G4 and V20 have a feature in the menu where you can decide by website whether or not you want the nav bar to show. That's what I'm looking for. AT&T version.

I just switched to ATT from Sprint. My Sprint version had this option, the ATT version does not. Would really like it on ATT V30, as this is going to be my main carrier, cause Sprint sucks in my area. Anyone know how to fix this?

I can hide it as well on my AT&T as well just as bhatech described.

I just got an update at around 2:15 am California time. It added the option to hide the touch buttons. Not sure what else it updated, but its fixed now for ATT V30.
