Hiding pictures

I have been trying to find a good solution to hiding pics from the gallery and I thought it was working but now I am seeing a problem. Situation is this...I use GoSMS as my text app. When I get a picture in the text I click on it and hit save and it saves it to a download folder in the gallery. I have a folder named ".private" so the folder itself just doesn't show up in the gallery. I installed the "dual file manager xt" app and I can use that to go to the download folder, click move and then paste it into the .private folder. Doing this I would have thought would make the pic hidden and that's it but after I do that and go to the gallery i see a folder name .private with just the 1 pic in it AND i see the download folder still that has the same pic. Of course if I delete the one from .private it removes it from the folder so using the dual file manager xt app to check the .private folder the pic is not there.

What am I doing wrong? Ideally I want to save a pic from the sms to the .private folder and that's it have it be hidden from the galery and only accessible from the dual file manager xt app.

Download quickpic it'll hide the pics in all photo viewing apps but when you look through a file explorer they show. Hope this helps

I have an app called vault. Private pictures and video app, password protected and even takes a picture when someone inputs the wrong password.

another one you can try is audio manager it does the same as vaulty but when somone opens the app its like a audio app to control your audio real nice.

+1 for "Audio Manager"... which is really a full-functioning Audio Manager in addition to being an EXCELLENT Privacy App for Pics, Vids, etc!

i use vaulty,

removes them from picture/video folder public.

and hides them in that app password protected.
