I had an M8 and it would get me a good 8 hours of use and i would play game, browse the net, and almost constantly have music playing.

with the 10 my battery seems to drain like nothing when I do the same usage.

How long have you had the phone?

Also, can you provide a screen shot of the battery stats to show us what other services are consuming battery? If you just got the phone then there may be high usage due to the syncing and setting up the device. If that's not the case, then hopefully we can help identify if there is a problem and how to improve it.

what do you mean? ITs fast.

but yesterday we had some bad weather that cut it in and out but even when that doesnt happen and I have full bars and wifi signal is full strength im getting this drain.

In the screen shot that says "history", below the graph you can see the network signal heading. Where that bar is yellow and orange your phone is using a lot of battery maintaining a connection and scanning for a better signal.

Can you download and install gsam battery app from Google play, it will help you see which app is hogging the hardware.

I believe that the screen difference can be a serious issu with battery life. M8 has a 5'' 1080p siplay but 10 has a qHD display. Doing more graphical intensive things on 10 is more battery demanding. Also, when you are in wiFi try to disable 4G, cellular network drains more battery that WiFi.

The PAD app that's right below Chrome...is that a game? Is it a video intense game, as in there is a lot of video motion, etc? If you are playing that a lot, that is going to drain the battery pretty quick too.

Where that bar is yellow and orange your phone is using a lot of battery maintaining a connection and scanning for a better signal.
There was a pretty good drop when the bar hit yellow into orange. But the larger drop was when the screen was on.

Also, when you are in wiFi try to disable 4G,
The 4G radio should go dormant when WiFi is on. That may not be the case here though.

cellular network drains more battery that WiFi.
This is true. Connecting to WiFi when possible will help save some battery life.

Overall...if the device is a few days old, the battery is still breaking in.

Ive had it well over a month.

and PAD is a game but isnt video intensive. just matching orbs.

i downloaded gsam last night but that app drained my battery even faster! after installing it my phone was at 30% then 5 minutes later it was down to 20. so I got rid of it.

this morning i turned my wifi off when i was out and only played a few short rounds in PAD then didnt touch my phone for a good 2 hours when i turned it on again I had gone from 98% to 84% not doing anything. is my phone busted?

There is something going on. Have you tried calling HTC to see what they say?

I'm too getting a very disappointing battery life. Far worse than my two year old M8.
The main culprit according to the system itself and GSam is the screen.
The screen is consuming 70%-75% of the battery (according to GSam).
When the screen is off I'm getting 2%-3% battery drainage per hour.
When the screen is on I'm losing 20%-25% battery per hour.

In a normal day I need to charge the device twice to keep going. :(
