Ho to bring back SD card to the status bar?

[Android Central Question]

When a SD card is connected to Android device, it appears in the status bar with an option to Eject it, however is you remove once from the status bar, Android remembers it for this card and never shows that again in the status bar. It can be ejected from Settings->Storage only.
How to bring it back to the status bar, or, where in the system Android keeps the list of SD cards to not to show them in the status bar.

Ok, go to the App Drawer and tap the Menu button, then see if there's a Reset All App Preferences option there.

The System UI is responsible for displaying the SD card info in the status bar, so I cleared the cache of it, did not help, I tried to reset the preferences, but the SYSTEM UI shows: "No defaults set". I found however a way to bring it back to the status bar by copying all data to a temporary folder and formatting the SD card. It change the unique number of the card, so the System UI recognize it as a new card. It is not a great solution, so still trying to get the right solution for that problem.
