I've got a Moto G 9 Play (android 10), and took it out of my handbag today. And a bunch of things had stopped working.

The top notifications menu wont 'pull down' and doesn't show notification.

The bottom home and recent buttons dont work.

I tried installing an app, but the play store opens, but then wont install the app.

The back button does work (yay!)

I found this post that sounded similar: https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s7/659407-s7-edge-not-showing-notifications-tray-recent-apps-button-settings-button-dnt-work-2.html

but cant find .SetupWizardTestActivity and am not sure if it's because I have a newer android version.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Ugh, it seems that same old bug is back. The Setup Wizard trick stopped working a time ago with new Android versions. In many cases this problem was caused by a lack of free storage in the device. Go to settings - storage and see how much you have left.

Checked in safe mode, same issue.

It was a while ago, but fairly sure I did.
Try reformat it back to portable storage, SD cards are not meant to be internal storage, they can crash cause performance issues and not as fast as internal storage speeds .

I couldn't find how to change the card to portable in the settings, or any indication that I had a card. So opened up the sim/sd holder and found no SD card.

Could a have sworn I put one in, but that must have been a different phone.
Oh wow , do you think you could of format it at some point and took the card out?

I probably needed it in something else when I got the phone last year and left it out with the intention of putting it in later if the memory started getting full.

If I do put one in, I'll make sure I set it as portable.

Ok , I don't recall you tried safe mode ? If so then factory reset the phone .
