Home Button Not Working

My home button does not work anymore. It used to take me to the main screen, now nothing.
I've had my Optimus G Pro from day one.

Anyone else have a fix?

It only seems to work after I remove battery and reboot.

Is the repair shop the only fix??? Seems like with my OPTIMUS G PRO the battery drains WAY faster now, it says slow charging when it's on the charger(tried all kinds) and home button stopped working all at once???? Help please. I love my phone I don't want to trash it
