I got my phone a few days ago and have slowly been personalizing it with lots of fun stuff. One of the first things I did was change the home screen wallpaper. I've changed it a couple of times and it was fine. But now, every time I change it, it won't display the whole picture. It crops the picture down and zooms in to make it fit. It doesn't look nearly as clear when it was using the whole picture. It's doing the same thing on the lockscreen as well. I can't figure out how to get the pictures back to the original size without installing another app.

Any suggestions?

Are you using stock wallpapers or are you just loading images on it? It would benefit you to make them the correct resolution and you won't have to crop them.

Here, read this

I'm having this same problem. When I use the Wallpaper picker that came with the Android 2.1 update it wants to crop the 320 x 480 picture to a 320 x 200 picture, and the it blows it back up so the height is back to 480, causing a weird ultra zooom/fuzzy look for the wallpaper.

It doesn't do this for the lock screen wallpaper. Funny thing is, when I'm setting the wallpaper if I choose to use HTC wallpapers instead of photos, it doesn't crop/expand the default HTC wallpapers that came with the 2.1 upgrade, but if I choose to use photos instead of HTC wallpapers, then pick one of those default HTC wallpapers it does crop/expand it to a fuzzy ugly picture.

Why won't it use the full 320 x 480 image for Home screen wallpaper like it will for lock screen wallpaper? *

* except when you use the HTC wallpaper app to pick one of the 22 default wallpapers that came with the sprint 2,1 upgrade

figured it out, the home screen wallpaper has to be 640x480, while the lock screen can be 320x480. that sucks as the best stuff I've found is for the iPhone and is 320x480.
