Home screen freezes

I use an app, any app, and when I want to go back to the home screen, I press the home button (the one in the middle, at the bottom). Then, the home screen is blank, showing me just the wallpaper, no icons, no buttons responsiveness, nothing. It happens for 3-4 seconds. It's very annoying.
Anyone else experiencing this problem? Any suggestions?

Are you using the stock launcher, or a thrid-party launcher such as Nova, ZenUI, Next, etc.?
