Home screen or Home screens?

I want to customize my home screen with my favorite "go to" apps and widgets. The problem is that it appears there are actually 7 home screens, all of which share the main apps at the bottom. Which one can I set to be the one it goes to after I hit the back button, or unlock, or is there when I turn the phone on?

You can just push and hold those apps and put them in the trash? Then all your screens will be blank. The 7 home screens, you can even push and drag each one of those screens and place them in the trash.

When you turn the phone on it will go to the middle home screen. The home button will take you to whichever screen you were on last. I don't think that you are able to specify.
