home screen rotates to landscape now?

woke up this morning to find that my thunderbolt was now able to rotate its home screen to show in landscape....has anyone else had this happen?? not that i'm complaining

stock, unrooted.

My stock, unrooted Thunderbolt doesn't do this yet. Did you receive an update for the software?

afirefighter -- doesn't look to be part of the update. i didn't update it yet and no sign of an overnight update/install.

It happened to my Hubbys too, and it stayed that way for about 2 weeks! And then it
went back to normal. He never used the car mount, and is not rooted! I was so jealous
of his TB! It was just weird it did that!

It happened to my GF phone but not mine. We are in a 3G area but she was in a 4G area so we thought it might of happened to hers then. Weird though.

it only happens after car mode is enabled, and after reboot, it doesn't happen again until car mode is on. My phone is automatically in speaker by default now too.

I use my phone in Car mode about every day...and once it comes out of the dock, it is no longer in landscape mode (only while it is in car mode in the vehicle dock). And I only reboot this about once every other week...so I don't think this is the reason.

This worked for me for a day or two and it was after I used the car dock. I still use the dock but only get landscape in the dock now.

is there a way to trick it into car mode?? I don't have a dock but would like to have the home screen in landscape mode.

why wasn't this a standard option?

other phones have been tricked by placing a magnet on the back of the phone---like a car dock would--but i'm not certain about the TB.

and i'm definitely not gonna be the one to find out

Yeah magnets dont work for the TB. That was for Droid and other Motos but not the TB or other HTC phones apparently. I have not heard how the phone knows it is in the dock but it most likely has something to do with the plug.

Anyway, you can get a car dock app in the market and then just run the app. No guarantee it will give you your landscape result though.
