I have an HP Slate 500 Windows 7 tablet. It runs like molasses in January under Win7 so I eagerly anticipated the release of the Win8 Preview. I downloaded it and installed it as a dual boot with no trouble but NOTHING WORKS. Well almost nothing. Windows and Internet Explorer work, sort of. And the on screen keyboard is better than the Win7 version. But that's about it. I find out today that Win8 requires screen resolutions well above my Slate's 1024 x 600. I don't know who to blame more, Microsoft of HP but the combination has me thinking I should trash the Windows installations and install Android. I tried and Android install on my Laptop but found it wasn't cut out for non touch use. Is Gingerbread the latest version that I could conceivably install on the Slate? I have a 2.2 iso from that experiment but would like to try the latest touch capable version available. Please to advise!
