Honor 6X: The best sub $250 Android phone?

Wondering if any current owners of the 5X are going to make the jump to the 6X? I suspect Honor has made a LOT of improvements to their entry level offering... and the price point remains hard to beat, with the 6X slotting into the sub $250 category.

What do you think? You going to pick one up as a daily driver? Or an upgrade from your 5X? Or perhaps just to have as an extra device when you need it?

It's a hard call... The honor 6x is very well specd for the price but the ZTE blade v8 has somewhat similar specs and retails for$230.

While I was impressed with the honor 8, the same can't be said about the honor 5x due to performance issues and inconsistencies in updates. If they improve on these then the Honor 6x should be a very good bang for the Buck

One thing about the V8 are those non-illuminated hardware keys.
Might be a deal breaker for a lot of people.

Almost sure the 6X will be a winner below 2 bills or lower.
I can wait for the inevitable price drop.

Yeah that's an odd design choice. Although for me, I would take the front fps which is more important to me than the non illuminated hardware keys

I want to ask someone who owns this phone,does the screen have oleophobic coating?? Reason I ask is because some reviews say it doesn't and I don't want to buy it and find greasy fingerprints don't rub off easy

I have the 5X and the 8, so to be honest I probably don't need the 6X. But still. Might splurge

In the next month or so, the 6x might have a great contender in the Moto G5 Plus when it's released in the US. There's also the One A9, not to mention it would be nice to see the Nokia 5 or 6 make their way to the states.

It's a hard decision. ..but I think the honor 6x might have a little advantage in the software...better UI and updates. In terms of hardware it's really hard to decide between the honor and the ZTE, so a hands on would be the ultimate test between them

Honor 8 is$300 on honor's website now. I realize that that is more than $250 but you are also getting much more of a phone

Well, if you are in a tight budget get the 6x, but you're right, you can also save a little $ and the honor 8 will be worth it!

Oh absolutely but i would guess that most who are looking for a $250 phone can afford an extra $50 and you are getting a lot more of a phone. Of course if the extra $50 breaks the bank then get the 6x. Also the honor 8 64gb has been as low as $224 before, so you can wait on a sale on the honor 8 which is likely soon since the honor 9 is coming out soon .

Well, in that case the best option would be waiting a little (if you can) for the honor 8 to be a little cheaper...and then comes the midrange paradox: why buying the 6x if I can get the honor 8 at a better price? ?????? perhaps the only advantage of the 6x would be the software updates?

Hard to say on the updates... I mean the honor 5x was long neglected for updates. Too early to say for the 6x but the honor 8 has been updated pretty decenly so far

I just ordered my 6x and for those looking to get one, they are currently $199 on Amazon. I believe Best Buy has them in store for the same price (unlocked).
