Something you did, probably. Broke a wire, forgot to plug something back in, damaged the mic. That's why I strongly suggest that people don't try to repair their own phones, even if they watch a YouTube video of someone "doing it for the first time". Most of those people are experienced techs. The one you watched may have never replaced the battery on an Honor 8 before, but he's probably worked on them many times, and knows all the little things to watch out for (like "when you lift this board, you'll pull that wire out, so you have to almost completely replace it, then reach under it with curved tweezers to plug it back in when re-assembling it").
