I have a Honor 8 phone. Yesterday I took a one in a million photo of my son, right before a big moment. Shortly after, the phone died.
When I got it to a charger that evening, I brought up the gallery app. The photo thumbnail was there for about 2 seconds, then disappeared, with the other images restacking upwards.

I've been digging through the photos trying to find it, and looking in any folder I can think of to see if it got shuffled to a cache or recycle.

So far no luck.

Camera setting has photos priority to SD card, but I've looked in both SD card and internal.

Any ideas. It would be a huge bummer if I can't recover this photo.

Very much appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Charles

Are your photos backed up in Google Photos? Might be a last ditch effort.

I have it hooked up to the computer now and no luck.
It's so odd in that it showed up for a few seconds in the gallery when I got the phone back on.
Hoping just got shuffled to another folder, or something.

I don't backup to google photos. I use photos on my iMac for backup.

Any luck with your situation, OP? That'd be terrible if that photo was gone forever. Have you tried restarting the phone or even going into Safe Mode to see if the camera/gallery apps function as normal? Maybe there's an app that's affecting normal operations.
