While I'm not sold on the upcoming potential loss of some popular features, I think a move in the right direction would be to go to a 4000mAh battery or as close as possible. That might be enough to comfort some of those concerned with not being able to swap batteries. Might also take some customers from the competion if they market it correctly. The way I use a phone though I'd still need to top off and thank heavens for fast charging.

Well if I were going to pray.. I might as well pray for a miracle... Like they have the ip68 rating and a removable battery 😇😇😇😇😈

Mac

PS... A 4000 mAH battery would be great too..

Not going to happen. If they are making a curved and pretty phone, don't expect a huge 4000mAh battery. Biggest battery I would predict is 3500mah and I could be wrong. No point of them going all the way with this design and ruin it with a thick battery. Battery should be fine for the average user anyway with the SD 835 chip which runs much more efficient. Let's hope for Quick Charge 4.0.

BTW it's rumored to have a 3200 mAh battery like the V20.

Rumours are just that.... rumours.
The Droid Maxx housed a 3500mAh battery in a much smaller package. 4000mAh might be pushing but there is little reason to keep it at 3200. 3500 to 3800 would be a good compromise and might get my attention.

After Korean giant Samsung got into a lot of heat with the exploding batteries, I'm sure their brother LG doesn't want to risk it. The Note 7 FE comes with a smaller battery now for safety reasons. Trying to fit a phat battery in a slim glass uni body isn't a good idea. They could make it thicker but it would affect buying decisions for some.

BTW have you seen a battery that has been overcharged or worn out? It looks swollen and fat. Seen it so many times working at Samsung/Best Buy back in the day when they had removable batteries. My Samsung laptop is sorta warped because of the heat and battery getting enlarged. Imagine that happening on a sealed glass phone (expect it to crack or explode).

I believe there's more room inside the projected V30. The Droid Maxx as I stated was 3500 and a smaller box. By the way I've only ever seen removable batteries swell up when left sitting dead for quite some time.

I agree. No S-pen should leave me room for a bigger battery then the Note8

I think the Note 8 with a smaller battery is a big mistake but that's just my opinion. I sort of understand why they went that route but I'm seeing a lot of buzz from former Note fans that they would like a more traditionally shaped Note and with a larger battery. They don't want an S8 plus with a pen. The twin camera with 3X optical zoom is liable to be a hit though.

Did you see how thick the S7 and S8 Active was? Both have 4000mAh batteries. There's no way you can make a thin and lightweight device with that battery, battery will always be the biggest component unless they upgrade the tech. If I know LG, they prefer thin and slim. Biggest possible battery would be 3600mAh like the S7 Edge.

Re: Hoping and Praying for a 4000mAh Battery

Phones seem to be shrinking battery capacities again, starting to feel like a way to force more frequent upgrades.

I have no problem getting through a day on my battery, but make it smaller and it needs more charge cycles in the same amount of time.

They all seem to indicate that the latest processors and operating systems are more efficient. No matter how true I still hate going with smaller batteries.

Battery swaps aren't necessary in a world where phones recharge in less than an hour and a half and have access to external power supplies like ZeroLemon cases.

Depends. ZeroLemon cases are more convenient than popping the back of the phone off, taking the old battery out, putting the new battery in, and then putting the back piece on

I have a zerolemon, it has its uses, but waay too big for everyday use for me. And the point was, it's definitely more convenient then making sure they you are near a charger. Took my phone on and four day camping trip with no electricity anywhere and had no worries about my phone because have 2 extra batteries they cost me a total of 35 bucks.

Most Zerolemons add to much bulk. I have Mugen and its tapered better but still to big for everyday use. The Mugen retains NFC. Many of the Zerolemons lose NFC. They should come out with a double life version and make a better looking back
