Horrible battery drain with phone OFF

Okay. So I have looked over several forum posts, yet I can't seem to find an answer to my specific problem. That problem being 2 things to do with my battery life.

I own an htc inspire 4g. I rooted this phone and then installed the coredroid rom. I absolutely love it EXCEPT that my battery drains extremely quickly and i constantly kill apps. I have removed some apps and done everything normal that I have read to reduce battery use. I'm not sure what to do about changing kernals and radios and all that because i'm really not sure how or what is good. Also since using coredroid, my battery seems to drain even when my phone is turned completely OFF. And I don't understand how this is happening. Any advice? I would really appreciate it.

I would find another Rom like cm7 and see orbit continues. I'm using rcmix3d v4.0 for my inspire and love it. No battery issues. It is also a sense Rom. Cm7 might get better battery life since it doesn't have sense.

Hmm I will try that then. I like the features of coredroid, but if the battery isn't keeping like it should then that is a big draw back.

Okay so I tried to find the download and I found a link, downloaded it, and when i tried to flash it to my phone it said to have failed. I tried the cm7 rom.
