Horrible battery life

For the past week or so, the battery life on my V30 has rapidly gotten worse. Tonight the phone is at 12% from a full charge after just 4 hours.
The main culprits? The T-mobile app and Android OS.
Looks like I can actually uninstall the T-mobile app. If that doesn't work, then I will need to do a reset.

Any other T-mobile customers experience this?

I'm sorry you are experiencing this; specially from a carrier-specific app! Any kind of update on your situation after a couple of days?

Update: Battery life is still pretty bad. The T-Mobile app only slightly better. No other app seems to be using significant (over 2%) battery - except for android OS/android system
The battery last me barely 10 hours (usually under) with not even an hour of screen on time, normal to light use. Even with Bluetooth turned off.
That's after the V30 was pretty consistent for the first 5 months - lasting 20 hours or so each day.
2 attached pics are from today, and the third is from the day of the original post.

I'm on T-mobile and have had tremendous battery life. I am using greenify. However, over the last week, I've noticed that my battery is draining a wee bit faster than usual. I noticed that my stock music player, and stock gallery were open and that was the culprit. It keeps happening even when I'm not using or opening either app. What's up with that?

That's insane, must be hot to the touch. Did you install any new apps prior to things going bonkers? Have you tried a factory reset?

I agree with you. Must be a bad app. If the phone is getting hot. Shut it down immediately till cool.

I'm trying to figure out if it's a bad app I installed recently - or one that updated and is now sucking battery. The phone does run warmer now. T-Mobile still is using too much battery. Today was particularly bad (see attached photo).
I'm at the point of a factory reset.

T-Mobile app was probably running in the background 24/7 with data monitoring. Also, turn off Wi-Fi calling. Download Greenify and hibernate apps manually when not in use.

Disable the T-Mobile app if you can. If you can't, learn how to disable it using ADB and your PC. Look below:

I was able to REMOVE them using ADB commands. If you are interested, here are the instructions:

Thanks for the feedback. I always have wi-fi calling turned off. However, it seems to be a moot point now.
After the latest round of app updates - with some Google apps in there (Google, Gmail) - battery life is back to good. In fact, a little better. Go figure.

From my experience from using Android 7 is that you have to wait a few weeks to 1 month in order for the Android system to recognize your usage habits and optimize on its own. Happens everytime I reset and wipe the device, just gotta wait.

How old is the phone?

The Li-Ion battery loses capacity over time, I noticed a decrease in runtime after 6 months in my device.

ZeroLemon sells these external battery packs you plug in your phone.

The stock 3300mAh battery cell is completely inadequate for this device.
Considering the 1440 x 2880 pixels.

Yet between the battery and optimization, this phone last longer than any previous device I've ever had.

I will always want more but to discribe the battery as inadequate? Hardly.

Completely agree.

On Verizon and my phone is almost 6 months old.... NO, battery problems or decrease. In fact after Oreo, it has been better. Yes Li-ion batteries decrease but after a longer time.... My experience.

Lateck,

What's the difference between ion and polymer? I see plenty of people rag on polymer batteries when compared to ion, yet I'm not sure why.

I'm going on 2 weeks with this phone, and am amazed at the battery life. This phone lasts twice as long as any other phone that I have had. I'm just now getting used to the fact that I don't need a mid day charge.

It's cool reading through the forums a seeing people realize just how great the battery is on this phone. The next wave of phones will really have to wow me for me to want to switch.
