Ok...battery life is less than average and now when I charge the phone...I get a meter on the phone screen indicating that it is hot/overheating while charging...
Is anybody else experiencing a warm battery while charging? Is your phone taking a long time to charge? Example: I put the phone on the charger (blinking battery sign) at 2:30 pm today... while plugged in, I got a couple of phone calls, looked at some emails and played sky force for about 15 minutes...it is now 4:50 and it is still charging and just hit 70%.
I am probably going to see if I can do a battery swap if the corp store will allow it...
However, just checking to see if anybody else has this problem...

The charger seems to trickle with my phone as well.
I will play the Robo Defense game while plugged in and it just about charges and drains at the same rate.

Overheating issues, though, I have not experienced.

Are you using the charger that came with it?

As there haven't been many reported instanced of this in the forum, I'd return the phone & battery for a replacement, if you're able.

Are you letting the phone shut off before charging? I did this with mine 2 - 3x and now I can go 18+ hours before I charge mine to 100%. Mine get a little warm but not totally hot and I have not ever seen a meter or message that stated that ever before. Are you plugging the phone into the wall connector or computer? I have seen it take 6 - 7 hours via usb on the pc sometimes more and 4 - 5 hours plugged directly in to the wall charger.

Also using the phone to make phone calls, e-mails and playing games, will result in a slower charge, the times I mentioned above includes some phone calls and emails. I try not to play games too much while charging is that it will take even longer. But the biggest thing besides 3D intensive games like Asphalt 5 HD and Talking, but e-mails does not kill the battery that bad for me, but 18+ hours on a single charge *with 8 hours of standby* in a low reception area, I consider great battery life! I agree about exchanging the phone and battery. My first Captivate, did about the same but even at 6 - 7 hours on charge and I left it alone, it only got about 83% battery, super hot and kept jumping back to the home screen and back screens all the time, so it was a defective unit and kind of sounds like yours is.

Cheers,
Charlie

how hot is too hot? i just got mine replaced, and it seems that its running a little warmer than the last, depending on what i'm doing it can get above 45C. i'm just not sure what is considered normal. phone calls make it hot too, but near the earpiece.
