Is there any Android Wear watch that makes swapping bands incredibly easy (under 30 seconds and no tools)? I have been considering getting a watch like the LG Urbane but I don't think that band would work well for exercising. I want to be able to wear a nice watch for my daily routine but when I get to the gym very simply swap the band before my workout and then again when I'm done. I don't know if there is anything out currently or on the horizon that would offer this type of usage.

If not, do people get two different Android Wear watches, one for exercise and one for daily life? Thanks.

People do wear multiple Android Wear watches and the nice thing about the newest release of Android Wear, it supports having multiple wear devices. It used to be, to swap out devices you would need to reset the watch.

The Asus Zenwatch has the easiest swappable band program. It has a pin which you press on the back of the band which releases it from the cog. You would need another Asus Band to be able to swap out the band easily.

I think you are looking for something similar to the Apple Watch style which allows you to easily swap out the bands. That does not really exist as of yet.

Have you also looked at the Nato bands or the nylon bands to see if that might be an option? Maybe you can find a dressy Nato band and a casual Nato band. Those might be easier to swap in and out. There are also Zulu bands as well that might be good.

I see a lot of good reviews from the brand name Daluca. Strapcode also seems to have some real nice bands.

I use nato straps (both nylon and leather) though I don't think even the leather ones are all that dressy. However, they are easy to swap out.

Couple points to consider:

1. Find the watch you want.
2. Find out what the watch band width you need to have for that watch.

Be careful of certain bands. For example, if you choose the Moto 360, you might have to modify the band to make it fit as the lip is really small.

With the LG Urbane 22mm is the width along with most LG and the Moto 360. Most of the bands you buy will work with the Urbane and Zenwatch.

Also, look at the Nato, nylon, Zulu straps and see if any are a viable option. After thinking about it, if you want to go with one watch and swapping out the bands are important, I would choose the Nato, Zulu and nylon strap options. If you do some digging, you might find a strap that is more towards dressy. The Nato, Zulu, etc,, seems to be the current fashion.

Just to give you an idea, when I had my Zenwatch, I never swapped out the stock band when I was at the gym or other. Now that I have the Urbane, I have one watch band for exercise and other. I have a stainless steel metal band.

I recommend these guys for natos, take a look and see if anything looks dressy enough:

I found this on reddit. Here is the link to someone who is using a leather NATO strap. Looks pretty sharp. If you prefer you can do to reddit and look under android wear and find It there as well.

How long does it take you to swap the band for your Urbane when you want to go from the metal band to your exercise band? Is it something you need to plan before or do you simply have the band and tool in your gym bag and do it in the locker room?

At this point I'm going to see if Motorola announces a new 360 at Google I/O but if not I might pull the trigger on an Urbane and either try swapping bands regularly or else get a second watch solely for exercising.

I bought the Zenwatch for the price, looks and ease of band swaps. All Fossil bands have the same quick release pins for 30 sec swaps and can match whatever activity you need. Quality leather bands are $25 and Nylon are $15. If you are in the KC area, just run to the Fossil store in Oak Park mall to try on any band you want. ;)

the only tool required to change the strap is pretty cheap, changing my G Watch R only cost around £5: £4 for the strap and £1 for a link remover
