Hotmail Authentication Failed?

I tried to set up my email account on my phone. I am with Hotmail. I know I was putting in the correct password but I had an error come up that said that authentication had failed. I seem to remember experiencing this same issue on my iPhone six plus. Does anyone know what the fix for this is on Android?
