HotSpot Features? - How about a sticky on just hotspot?

So I'm a touch of a network geek, and I'm seeing some performance issues with my HotSpot application. I want to change the channel that the wireless outputs. Is that possible? I thought there was something in the root version hotspot that you could change the channel. I work in a corporate environment and would like to get hotspot at my desk every now and then, but I need to get onto a better channel so I don't create a black hole for traffic. Any thoughts on how to do this? I see nothing in the settings of the app. I may call sprint tech support to get them to let me do it...

I'm also looking for the ability to change the channel to appease the corporate network geeks. Not sure if this was something that changed from 2.1 to 2.2 - I could've sworn there were more options on the Hotspot config page in 2.1 than there are now.
