My father-in-law has this phone and signed up for wi-fi hotspot so he can tether his laptop for an internet connection. He was complaining that it takes a long time to get on. I tested is and found connection to be intermittent.
He is running windows vista home premium and the internet connection status sometimes is....
"Limited Connectivity"
"Local Only"
"Local and Internet"
I don't use the phone daily so I haven't been able to troubleshoot the habits of the phone but I tried everything. Renewing the IP address etc...
Last night he was on "Limited Connectivity" for about half an hour. All of a sudden, he had "Local and Internet" and everything worked great.
His phone 3g signal was around 1 to 3 bars and the phone never lost a 3g signal. Even at 3 bars, the phone wouldn't stays on "Limited Connectivity".
Once the phone connected (after 1/2 hour), the bars were still anywhere from 1 to 3 and the phone never missed a beat.
Finally, I connected my laptop and when both computers were connected I had internet (almost like it jogged something loose). I called Verizon, they said there is a known issue with microsoft, they transferred me to microsoft and they feel the problem is on the end of verizon.
Anyone else have any problems or knows of a fix? Thanks in advance for any help.
